But…But She’s Too Pretty To Die…

I think that everyone knows that Sarah Michelle Gellar is my all-time favorite actress, she’s just amazing!
Sofy and I went to Cary’s house to watch a few movies and have fun, and we SO did, but the only thing that bugged me is that fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar dies in every movie that she makes. Cary rented “I know what you did last summer” and “I still know what you did last summer” and I almost cried when Sarah Michelle Gellar died. She escaped so perfectly wisely and prettyly from the hook fisherman dude, and I was just so nervous because I’d hate for her to die once again, since she’s so pretty and charismatic to die. But then after she saw her sister dead, she jumped off the window and onto the streets. She saw this parade going on and she was going there to run away from the assassin, and be with the crowd so she wouldn’t be murdered. When she was almost there, the lights faded, she looked back to see if the assassin was there, but as we all expected he was right in front of her when she looked to her front again. he got her and threw her in the middle of all these tires right in front of the parade and nobody heard her, and they were practically watched her die, he was massacrating her with his hook on her head, beating her with it continuously, non-stop with no mercy, while she would scream and wave her arms in the desperate attempt to wound him. I almost cried, I mean, I so was looking forward to see her in the other movies of the series, she escaped so wisely and so many times, just to die in the middle or right in front of a parade, that’s just too much for me to handle, she’s…but…but she’s too pretty to die, I mean, she dies TWICE in Buffy, and another time in the grudge 2, again, she escaped so many times from Kayako and then when she’s in the hospital, she dies… OH MY GOD!! that just makes me so angry, I love her movies and she brightens up every movie she’s in, and I wish there would be at least one series of movies where she would not die, just like Sofy loves Alyson Hannigan, I love Sarah Michelle Gellar, but I guess that Alyson Hannigan does not die in every single movie she makes.
Avril, Alvy, and Sofy

In my trip to “Monte Verde” I only listened to Avril Lavigne, and it really made me reminisce on the past…
In 2002, she released her first album, “Let Go” and by that time, I was like 7 or 8, and although being so small, I totally loved her, and as always, I had to drag Sofy with me, and we grew up listening to her, from the beggining of 3rd grade to the end of 4th grade, I’m telling you, we were total fanatics. So, we listened to “Let Go” and her 2nd album, “Under My Skin” a lot together, and then 5th grade came, we seperated classes and we hardly ever talked, and then I started to walk with Carol and some other girls who introduced me to other kinds of music, such as Hilary Duff, so I started listening to Hilary Duff more than I listened to Avril Lavigne, so Sofy and I started to loose interest in poor Avril Lavigne. Sofy and I even sang some of her songs in past talent shows, we sang “Sk8er Boi” and “Things I’ll Never Say” and we were so little and all, I still love “Things I’ll Never Say” but I don’t know how I ever liked “Sk8er Boi,” it’s just so… noisy. Well, 2 years later, after improving my singing skills, A LOT, Sofy and I are much more friends than we ever were and Avril Lavigne is again, one of my favorite singers, worth of being place in my iPod, after her release of “The Best Damn Thing,” we listen to her a lot now, she’s an amazing singer!

Hikaru Utada – Hikari: This song is so soothing, I just love it, and you might be familiar with it from the videogame “Kingdom Hearts.” I had mentioned Hikaru Utada in my last post, so get the chance to see how she sings live, I put up this video.
Ashley Tisdale – Be Good To Me: This video, I have also mentioned in a previous post, and it’s a song from Ashley Tisdale’s first album, “Headstrong” so if you like the song, you can buy the whole CD, because they’re all great.
Christina Aguilera – On Our Way: Of course, “On Our Way” could not be left out, it is the name of our blog and it’s a song that we admire and it has very special meaning. This is not a music video, it’s the song playing while it’s showing a picture of Xtina.

Hikaru Utada

I hope you’ve all noticed the makeover we’ve done in “On Our Way,” in which, in my opinion, is so much prettier.
Well, now lets get back to the title of this post. Hikaru Utada is my favorite JPop singer, and one of my favorite singers. I wanted to introduce her to you guys if you never heard about her.
Hikaru Utada (Or Utada Hikaru as she is also known) was raised in the United States, but she has Japanese decendense, therefore, she knows japanese and English. She first made a band with her parents, and it was named U3 (Utada 3) and later on, she named the band Cubic U. She started her career being named in Europe and the US as Cubic U, and in Japan as Hikaru Utada (Her real name) and of course, after many singles, she started to win fame and all, and even beat the record in Japan of most albums sold, she sold 6 million copies of “First Love” (Her first album) in which by the way, it’s weird, because Christina Aguilera sold like 25 million copies of her 4th album, “Back To Basics.”
After some time, Hikaru became the best known JPop singer, and I introduced her to Sofy and now, even though we don’t understand anything she says in most of her songs, we just love her voice and the rhythm of the songs. The only album that we actually understand is “Exodus” because it’s in english, (Ms. Coggio probably remembers when I asked her what “Exodus” meant) and it’s one of the best albums I ever heard. I recommend Hikaru Utada’s album if you want a stunning vocalist with awesome beats in the same song.
Headstrong

Some time ago, I had posted about Ashley Tisdale, and the name of the post is “Big Talent, Small Stage.”
So, I’m here to write where she is now in her career. I have to say, she worked hard in her new album, Headstrong, and I’m telling you, it paid off, it’s one of the best albums I have ever heard, and I’m telling you, I have 946 songs in my iPod.
Ashley Tisdale really did cut the strings that tied her to “High School Musical” and now her songs are much more mature and her voice is amazing, she finally shows what her voice is actually capable of, and the best of all, she is no longer such a “Disney Girl” (And what I mean by “Disney Girls” is the kind of girl that makes people think that she’s all innocent and perfect, and bla bla bla, like Hilary Duff WAS, Like Lindsay Lohan WAS). I know that I always say this, but anyway, I would recommend that the next time you go to the mall, you buy this album, I’m sure you’ll all like it (Actually, I’m not, but only if you have terrible taste for music).

Britney Spears

I can’t help to feel sorry for Britney Spears. She had the perfect career, although I can’t say she had the perfect life, since her husband is so not a role-model, and can you believe that he made her pay 6 million dollars for him not to produce a tape that they recorded in their “intimacy?” I don’t think there is any word to describe him, other than bastard.
But that was only the beginning, Britney Spears got addicted to drugs, and shaved her head, in order to get a new look. She was put into one of thoes places that you stay whenever you’re addicted to something. in that place she attempted suicide, but it wasn’t sucessful. And I don’t know when, but she attempted to suicide one more time, and tried to murder 2 paparazzi with an umbrella. I can’t imagine the pain she is going through, she gave birth to two babies, and she’s not exactly the best mother. I heard that once, she escaped from the place she was in to recover from her drugs addiction, and got her yougest baby, I don’t know from where, but she did, and she got a motel, sat on the floor, and started to rock her baby.
Britney Spears is one of my favorite singers, and I keep on thinking that she will recover and pass from this fase on her life, but I started to think that it will never happen. I’ve been informed that once, she was running up and down the halls of “the place she recovers from her drug addiction” and shouting out that she was the anti-christ.
I just hope she recovers, not only from her addiction, but that she also recovers her career, and that she becomes the old Britney again!
Buffy: The Best Series EVER!

I have mentioned a lot of Buffy episodes and characters in the last posts, and I just felt like talking about it a little, just so you guys could rent a season and give it a try!
Sofy and I are great fans of the Buffy seasons, since I lent the third season to her, and she seems to be enjoying it! she asks me some questions, and I love that she’s getting involved in the plot, and she’s really enjoying! I feel so happy! but Ms. Coggio and Cary have to start watching (Well, Cary won’t have time, but I could lent it to Ms. Coggio!)
As the title suggests, “Buffy the vampire slayer” is about Buffy, the vampire slayer, and her friends, and actually, vampires and slayers aren’t the only things related to the supernatural, wiccas, demons, gods, cyborgs and other things are also involved! some of her friends are:
Willow: a wicca (Tara’s girlfriend)
Tara: a wicca (Willow’s girlfriend)
Xander: the “group clown”
Spike: an ally vampire
Angel: an ally vampire
Cordelia: Popular girl, runs away in the third season
Dawn: Buffy’s sister
Anya: ex-demon
Giles: Buffy’s watcher
Drusilla: Spike’s ex-girlfriend
The story is fun, and very creative, and it even tells some stories from other books, like the gentlemen, Hansel and Gretel and even Dracula. (And that’s why you would like it, Ms. Coggio)
Buffy goes from season 1-7 and there has been a rumor that the 8th season will also be released, I just hope it’s true, since Buffy the vampire slayer IS the best series of all times.
Why Is Gwen Stefani So Cool?

That question has been asked so many times, but it was never answered, since Gwen Stefani has no reason to be cool she’s just cool. As soon as I came out of the airplane to miami, I felt like listening to Gwen Stefani, I had downloaded her first Album from the internet, so I had it in my iPod, and in our first day here in Miami, we went to Target to buy some medication for my sister because she felt a really strong headache. I don’t know why, but whenever my mother gets in a big store (Like a supermarket) she discretely runs away and gets lost in the crowd while she looks for stuff to buy. So, my father told us to go look for her, and I used that statement to get into the music section of the store and just take a glimpse at the CDs that they had for sale, until on one of the shelves, I saw an album that a woman had a wig with bangs, a platinum blonde wig with bangs! I then noticed that I knew that album, it was Gwen Stefani! it was one of the albums I wanted even before it was released, so I took it, the cover was broken, I took another one, the plastic was torn, and I took another one, perfect. I asked my father if I could have it, and he said yes! I loved the songs in her CD, so I bought her first one, even though I had downloaded it (Yeah, I don’t do illegal stuff). So, about the question again, “Why Is Gwen Stefani So Cool?” well, that is a pretty good question, although Gwen doesn’t have a totally revolutionary voice (Like Christina Aguilera’s voice) she knows her good features, and that’s what makes music better, and the best thing is that her voiced is not “computerized” like thoes “High School Musical” actors. Well, if you feel like buying a cool album, you should check out “The Sweet Escape” by Gwen Stefani, and “Back to Basics” by Christina Aguilera!
Big Talent, Small Stage

There is this girl, named Ashley Tisdale, she is an actress/singer, and most of you might know her from High School Musical. In my opinion, I think she made a mistake by accepting Disney’s offer and participating in their movies and recording their soundtracks (Although the song “Kiss the girl” in which she re-recorded, is pretty good.) Ashley Tisdale is very, very talented, of course that she’s good in not only singing, but in acting as well, and her Disney rolls are actually pretty good. The only problem is that she is not an “official” singer, taken seriously because Disney is holding her back, totally. Imagine you, if you had a great voice, only recording 2 tracks per year because you only record soundtracks, and people don’t take her seriously because everything she produces has the Disney trademark in the middle, and that ain’t no media attractive. Now, High School Musical brought only ONE good thing (Because everything else is terrible) In which is to make her realize that recording soundtracks aren’t her thing, she wants to record REAL albums, and her new album will be released in February, and I bet there are a few singles along the way. Ashley Tisdale’s talent was showing since she was young, and she even sang in the White House when she was twelve. What kind of company (Disney) would make her career be held back, with so much talent? And who agrees with me that Disney is like a singer/actor-machine? Disney is now transforming actors into singers through their television series and movies, it was nice in the start, when great idols were discovered like Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff, and now Ashley Tisdale (Although she’s part of Disney’s “new singers” generation) Half of the world’s singers population has or is working for Disney. And you know how they make their voices listenable? by totally “computerising” them, like that girl, Vanessa Hudgens, um, hello, ain’t it obvious that her voice is totally “messed up” with? compare her voice to Christina Aguilera’s and you’ll understand.
I’m so against this Disney factory of singers, because singers should be discovered for their talent, and not because they’re famous.
Sex Appeal? Synonym For Media?

Here in Brazil, we have a Television program in MTV called: “Tribunal de pequenas causas musicais” and it talks about some media-related stuff, and today’s topic was how sex affected music in a wrong way, as to become the center of attention and leave the song as background. That can be true, but then why make music videos? well, girls dance and all, but who watches thoes cartoon-like music videos? just like I was talking about the “The Pussycat Dolls” they are good-looking, they make all of their video clips a HUGE success, (Not for me, only, but they show up everytime! and I’m not being perverted, OK?) because of their sex appeal. Well, coming back to the subject, I don’t think that there would be a music video that would win an award and is about this huge woman and her face, even if she HAS a beautiful voice, media doen’t work that way (Sofy and Cary, I think you feel the same!) first of all, my favorite singer IS Christina Aguilera, and if you’ve seen “Dirrty” then you would know why I’m defending the cause. The program reached the conclusion that there is too much sex appeal in the videos, 75 PERCENT! EW! what would be of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and all these singers without their sex appeal in their music videos? they would become fat, and ugly (Not Christina) and just sick, I bet all of thoes retards that voted to that 75% will dislike the idea of seeing a big world-trade-center-big-fat-woman singing in a boring music video where the only thing that shows is her bloated face. HELLO WORLD?! WHO AGREES WITH ME!? (And I have no problem against fat people, it’s just that media sets up a model for us, these very skiny people and all, and if they set these trends, and we’re OK this way, then it’s going to look very weird and abnormal to see these things we’re used to seeing become total past, especially when related to weight, and by the way, we would be full of health problems, and make McDonalds and these fast food things rich because we would only eat their chicken thighs.) Does anyone else agree with me? (I know I may seem repetitive, but I just want to make my point VERY, VERY clear.) The title of the post may make me seem super perverted and stupid, but I am telling the truth, I don’t know about Sofy, but I think Cary will support me in this cause (OK then, girls imagine Ricky Martin fat in a music video, swimming in the Atlantic Ocean of fried chicken, while he ate them all… every single one.)
